Green schoolAcharacle Primary in Lochaber will be the most energy efficient in Scotland and is the country’s first sustainable school, according to a BBC report. The triple-glazed school is designed to keep energy consumption as low as possble. The building is mainly made from wood and a nearby wind turbine provides water heating and electricity.

The usage of the building is for multi-purpose include a community use. This is certainly a step in the right direction towards creating the environment for the next generation of leaders. Not only is this school setting a good example to other schools project, it is also allowing children to develop in a ‘green’ environment who no doubt will carry on into adulthood being environmentally-conscious.
