Jill Bolte TaylorFor thousands of years, Eastern philosophies such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Zen have been teaching the principles of achieving a higher state of consciousness. The attainment of a higher state of consciousness has also been propogated in the shamanic traditions across the world, including in the Americas and Africa.

Then in the last 400 years or so, science took a foothold and much has been discovered using scientific methodology, logic and reason. This approach brought us much of what we take for granted in ou medicines, modern technology and much more.

However, it somehow feels like, whilst we have fully embraced science, logic and reason, we give scant disregard to age old universal truths. In this video, you will see demonstrate to you how science, at last, is embracing some of the ancient wisdom which we nearly lost in time.

Dr Jill Bolte Taylor, a neuroanatomist specialising in the postmortem investigation of the brain, explains how her personal experience of having a stroke gave a unique perspective on the brain. It’s a fabulous story. Enjoy!
