Lindsay Wagner’s Future…

August 27, 2010 at 16:34 4 comments

A couple of days ago, I had the privilege and the honour of interviewing one of humanity’s true heroines, Lindsay Wagner. Even though she had travelled thousands of miles and was exhausted from the journey, she still found the time to be bombarded with my questions and my listeners’ questions.

There was one question she didn’t get the chance to answer in full. That was the one asked by Jaz Rasool, a previous guest on the show. It was:

“What will you be doing in the future out of sheer goodwill?”

This is what she told me later:

“I am the Honorary Chair for ICAN – the Interagency Council of Child Abuse and Neglect. I have been in this role for over 20 years. I speak and sometimes do workshops at the annual conference called Nexus held in October for people in the field. It is attended by all the various people who are connected with family Violence, social services, the police, people in legislation and the medical field. It is open to anyone who wants to attend the seminars to learn more about the latest information on the subject as well as techniques for helping the people they serve, existing and desired legislation and ways to keep themselves healthy while in this very emotional and stressful field of work.

Since the mid nineties, I have been on the board of Catching the Dream, a Native American Scholarship Fund. This organization not only awards scholarships but also has programs for enhancing the level of education on the reservations in the US. I have for about 9 years been supporting and working with a program put on by Sheriff Baca of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for Domestic Violence offenders, while incarcerated, called “Bridges to Recovery”. The program is very holistic in nature, exploring and integrating body, mind and spirit. In a unique atmosphere, it gives the participants an opportunity to see themselves and others in a very different light and learn new ways of dealing with stress. The men who attend this program are there by choice and have the opportunity to do something constructive with their time that has the potential to break the cycle of Domestic Violence in their family.

These ongoing involvements all have future events in which I will be participating. Often times new things come up but I don’t know of any just yet. ”

Peace and blessings,

Harun

Lindsay I was so happy to be able to listen to your entire interview on the radio show and whether you were tired, you answered so many questions with the grace and beauty that you are. I learned so much more from that interview. I didn’t think you missed a beat on your answers. I do appreciate what you added to the question you felt you didn’t answer the way you wanted. The main thing is that you opened heart and minds to all that had the opportunity to hear you speak. Thank you for taking out the time to do such a long radio show. Especially for those who aren’t able to see you in person. You are an angel with an amazing heart and soul. Thank you as always for opeing up my heart and mind. Love & hugs to you Lindsay. : ) Dorian

How very true, your comment on the fact that people are given a chance to look at the situation and themselves in another light, 99% of them will not recognize the person they are observing.
Giving people this special tool will help change the world one person at a time.

Thank You, You are the BEST!!
